Dear Vida
I have just deleted 2875 ‘comments’.
To make this hideous process of checking comments kinder to my eyes when scrolling through the screen - however flippantly -, but also to make sure I only check comments that are not circulars, you will need to put ‘Dear Vida’ or ‘Hello Vida’ at the beginning of your comment.
After all this is MY personal blog-home. What makes you think you could enter and gain a space in it without even saying hello to the owner?
The other reason for this decision is that I would like to think it is harder to become personal when sending spam, or to send a spam when addressing a person.
You could still of course write something like:
‘Dear Vida, hereby I am sending you spam with the hope that you may even like it. Please be kind enough to consider it for publication. Yours sincerely/ The Eternal Idiot
P.S. I am usually a nice guy like the guy next door, however my mortgage is higher and I suffer from existence angst as well, or rather because of it.’
I’m afraid this new policy would mean that ALL comments without my name would be automatically deleted.
As someone whose name is continuously deleted, hence having difficulty to communicate with loved ones what the situation out there really is, I do understand your disappointment. It is tough to have no witnesses when living an earthly life and not in sec lusion.
But as the Iranian proverb goes: Time is gold (vaght talaast), and yes folks you have to prove you have read this article when sending comments. That proof is my name period
